Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran pengetahuan dan persepsi masyarakat Kota Jambi tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel. Serta untuk mengetahui ada tidaknya hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan persepsi masyarakat Kota Jambi tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei dengan teknik sampling penarikan sampel banyak tahap acak (multistages random sampling). Instrumen pengumpulan data berupa kuesioner, wawancara mendalam (in depth interview), dan dokumentasi. Analisis data pada penelitian ini terbagi menjadi dua, yakni analisis univariat dan analisis bivariat. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat Kota Jambi tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel menunjukkan responden dengan kategori tinggi sebanyak 18 responden dengan persentase sebesar 13.3%, sedangkan kategori sedang sebanyak 97 responden dengan persentase sebesar 71.9%, dan kategori rendah sebanyak 20 responden dengan persentase 14.8%. Persepsi masyarakat Kota Jambi tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel menunjukkan tidak ada responden dengan kategori sangat tidak baik dan tidak baik dengan persentase 0%. Persepsi mayoritas responden sangat baik tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel, dimana responden dengan kategori baik sebanyak 32 responden dengan persentase 23.7% dan responden dengan kategori sangat baik sebanyak 103 responden dengan persentase 76.3%. Analisis bivariat menunjukkan ada hubungan antara pengetahuan dengan persepsi masyarakat Kota Jambi tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel (p=0,000). Hal ini berarti bahwa semakin tinggi pengetahuan masyarakat, maka semakin baik pula persepsinya tentang prospek penggunaan sumber energi alternatif berbasis biofuel. ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the knowledge and perceptions of the people of Jambi City about the prospect of using alternative energy sources based on biofuels. And to find out whether there is a relationship between knowledge and people's perception of Jambi City about the prospect of using biofuel-based alternative energy sources. The data analysis in this study was divided into two, namely univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. The results showed that the level of knowledge of the people of Jambi City about the prospect of using biofuel-based alternative energy sources showed that the high category respondents were 18 respondents with a percentage of 13.3%, while the medium category was 97 respondents with a percentage of 71.9%, and the low category was 20 respondents with percentage 14.8%. The perception of the people of Jambi City about the prospect of using alternative energy sources based on biofuel shows that there are no respondents with very bad and bad categories with a percentage of 0%. The perception of the majority of respondents is very good about the prospect of using alternative energy sources based on biofuel, where respondents in the good category are 32 respondents with a percentage of 23.7% and respondents with a very good category are 103 respondents with a percentage of 76.3%. Bivariate analysis showed that there was a relationship between knowledge and public perception of Jambi City about the prospect of using alternative energy sources based on biofuel (p=0.000). This means that the higher the public's knowledge, the better their perception of the prospect of using alternative energy sources based on biofuels. Keywords: knowledge, perception, biofuel.
