Abstract

THE EFFECT OF LEARNING BASED ON REALISTIC MATHEMATICS EDUCATION (RME) AND PROBLEM BASED LEARNING (PBL) REVIEWING FROM SELF-EFFICACY ON MATHEMATICS LITERACY ABILITY OF JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS Prastika1, Kamid2, HarisEffendi3 12Mathematics Education Department, Post Graduate, Universitas Jambi-Indonesia 3Chemistry Education Department, Post Graduate, Universitas Jambi-Indonesia ABSTRACK The purpose of this study was to determine: 1) The effect of the application of realistic mathematics education (RME) and problem based learning PBL on students' mathematical literacy skills. 2) The effect of self-efficacy on students' mathematical literacy skills. 3) The interaction between RME and PBL learning with self-efficacy students'on students' mathematical literacy skills. A sample of 102 students consisted of the experimental class I, the experimental class II, and the control class. Sampling using random sampling technique. The data analysis technique used is two-way ANOVA. The results showed that: 1) RME-based learning was more effective in influencing mathematical literacy skills than PBL-based learning, while PBL-based learning was more effective in influencing students' mathematical literacy skills compared to conventional learning. 2) Self-efficacy students' high and moderateare more effective in influencing students' mathematical literacy skills compared to self-efficacy low. 3) There is no interaction between RME and PBL-based learning with self-efficacy in influencing students' mathematical literacy skills. Keywords: Realistic Mathematics Education, Problem Based Learning, Mathematical Literacy Ability, Self-efficacy
