Abstract
This research was motivated by the occurences of sudents' low interest in the learning process and the students' low score of Biology at Batang Hari Senior High School State 4. It was caused by several factors, including the lack of interest and motivation in learning and the lack of teaching materials for students at school. Therefore, the researcher developed factual-based digital comic media. This research and development aimed to 1) Determine the feasibility of developing digital comic media on environmental pollution learning materials for Class X of Senior High School students, 2) Analyze students' perceptions of digital comic media on environmental pollution learning materials for Class X of Senior High School students, and 3) Determine the effectiveness of digital comic media on environmental pollution learning materials for Class X of Senior High School students. 4) Knowing the effectiveness of factual-based digital comic media on environmental pollution material for class X high school students in terms of student learning outcomes. This research and development used ADDIE model development design. The data collection technique was by using questionnaire sheets and multiple choice questions. The instruments used were validation questionnaire sheets to determine the feasibility of the media, teacher and student response questionnaires to determine the attractiveness of the media and multiple choice questions to determine the effectiveness of the media. The data analysis technique used in this research and development was qualitative to describe data in the form of comments and suggestions for improvement from validators, teachers and students, while the quantitative one was to process data in the form of scores from the research by teachers and students and to process data from effectiveness test results. Based on the results of the validation on the development of digital comic media by material experts twice and media experts once, the media was declared valid and could be tested, while the teacher response results obtained a percentage of 94% in the very good category, the results of student responses in small group trial obtained a percentage of 93% in the very good category, the results of student responses in the large group trial obtained a percentage of 87% in the very good category and the results of field trials or effectiveness obtained a score of 54 in the control class and 71 in the experimental class which meant that learning outcomes by using digital comic media was more effective.
