Abstract

Mentimun (Cucumis sativus L.) merupakan tanaman yang tumbuh merambat. produksi dan produktivitas tanaman mentimun di Indonesia mengalami fluktuasi. Menurunnya hasil produksi mentimun di Indonesia dan di Jambi disebabkan oleh beberapa faktor salah satunya adalah pengaplikasian pupuk dengan jenis dan dosis yang tidak sesuai anjuran. Budidaya mentimun secara organik menggunakan trichokompos menjadi alternatif yang baik karena berpotensi mempercepat proses dekomposisi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mempelajari pengaruh trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun dan untuk memperoleh dosis trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit yang tepat untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Desa Dataran Kempas, Kecamatan Purwodadi, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat, Provinsi Jambi. Penelitian di laksanakan pada bulan April 2021 – Mei 2021. Penelitian ini mengguanakan Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) yakni penambahan trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit, yang terdiri dari 6 taraf perlakuan yaitu 0 ton ha-1 tanpa perlakuan (t0), 7,5 ton ha-1 trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit (t1), 15 ton ha-1 trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit (t2), 22,5 ton ha-1 trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit (t3), 30 ton ha-1 trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit (t4), 37,5 ton ha-1 trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit (t5). Setiap perlakuan di ulang sebanyak 4 kali, sehingga didapat 24 satuan percobaan. Setiap satuan percobaan terdiri dari 4 tanaman dengan 2 sampel, sehingga pada penelitian ini akan di tanam 96 tanaman. Untuk melihat pengaruh perlakuan terhadap parameter yang diamati dilakukan Uji Anova dan Uji Lanjut Duncan. Hasil menunjukan bahwa pemberian Trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit mampu meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan hasil tanaman mentimun jika dibandingkan dengan deskripsi varietas mentimun Ethana beberapa parameter seperti panjang buah dan diameter buah sudah memenuhi kriteria deskripsi. Trichokompos pelepah kelapa sawit dengan dosis 30 ton ha-1 dan 37,5 ton ha-1 memberikan respons yang lebih baik jika dibandingkan dengan dosis yang lain terhadap pertumbuhan dan hasil mentimun. Cucumber (Cucumis sativus L.) is a plant that grows vines. Cucumber production and productivity in Indonesia fluctuates. The decline in cucumber production in Indonesia and Jambi was caused by several factors, one of which was the application of fertilizers with types and doses that were not as recommended. Organic cucumber cultivation using trichocompost is a good alternative because it has the potential to accelerate the decomposition process. This study aimed to study the effect of oil palm midrib trichocompost on the growth and yield of cucumber plants and to obtain an appropriate dose of oil palm midrib trichocompost to increase the growth and yield of cucumber plants. This research was carried out in Dataran Kempas Village, Purwodadi District, West Tanjung Jabung Regency, Jambi Province. The study was carried out in April 2021 – May 2021. This study used a Randomized Block Design (RAK), namely the addition of oil palm midrib trichocompost, which consisted of 6 levels of treatment, namely 0 tons ha-1 without treatment (t0), 7.5 tons ha-1 trichocompost of oil palm midrib (t1), 15 tons ha-1 trichocompost of oil palm midrib (t2), 22.5 tons ha-1 of trichocompost of oil palm midrib (t3), 30 tons ha-1 of trichocompost of oil palm midrib (t4) , 37.5 tonnes ha-1 of oil palm midrib trichocompost (t5). Each treatment was repeated 4 times, so that 24 experimental units were obtained. Each experimental unit consisted of 4 plants with 2 samples, so that in this study 96 plants were planted. To see the effect of treatment on the observed parameters, the Anova Test and Duncan's Advanced Test were carried out. The results showed that the application of Trichokompos from oil palm fronds was able to increase the growth and yield of cucumber plants when compared to the description of the Ethana cucumber variety, several parameters such as fruit length and fruit diameter met the description criteria. Oil palm midrib Trichocompost at doses of 30 tons ha-1 and 37.5 tons ha-1 gave a better response compared to other doses on cucumber growth and yield.
