Abstract

ABSTRACK Background : Atopic dermatitis is a chronic inflammatory disorder that is very itchy that affects about 10-20% in children and 1-3% in adults worldwide. Atopic dermatitis is a familial hypersensitivity of the skin and mucous membranes to environmental allergens, associated with increased production of IgE, followed by various changes in skin reactivity. The etiology and pathogenesis of atopic dermatitis are currently unknown and multifactorial. The varied course of the disease is influenced by various factors and is closely related to other topics. In Indonesia, the incidence and prevalence of AD cases has increased every year. Objectives : to determine the characteristics of Atopic Dermatitis patients at the Simpang IV Sipin Health Center in 2019. Method : This research uses descriptive research method observational data that uses secondary data, namely data from medical records. Result : The results of this study contained 126 samples, namely the most gender was female as many as 65 (51.6%) patients. The highest age was found in 6-11 years as many as 40 (31.7%) patients. And the location of the rash is mostly on the extremities as many as 41 (32.5%) patients. Conclusion : From the results of the study, most AD patients were female, the age was mostly children, and the location of the rash was mostly on the extremities.
