Abstract
In the 2020 election of the regent and deputy regent of the Tanjung Jabung Barat district, social capital is one way for candidates to be able to attract attention and support from the community. This was succesfully carried out by Anwar Sadat and Hairan by utilizing their social capital and being able to win the election results for the regent and deputy regent with 44,7 % of the vote. The purpose of this study was to detemine the forms of modalities possessed by Anwar Sadat and Hairan as well as efforts to use them in the election of the regent and deputy regent of Tanjung Jabung Barat. This research uses descriptive qualitative method. The results of the study show that this couple has a large enogh social capital as evidenced by the forms of social capital they have, incuding: 1)His figure/personality in the community (Anwar Sadat is a Chaplain and Hairan is known as a populist. 2)Family relationships and netwoks (Anwar Sadat is the son of a Kyai founder of Islamic boarding school and Hairan has quite a lot of family networks in the village). 3)Position/achievement held (Anwar Sadat is a DPRD of Jambi Province and Hairan is a DPRD of Tanjung Jabung Barat regency). 4)Social organizations and social groups (Anwar Sadat is a member of several social organizations including PMII, ISNU, LKKNU, Majelis Ash-Shahabah Jambi, Council of Zikir Wal Ilmi Al-Anwar and Hairan is a member of APDESI, PTMSI and the Association Farmers Rubber of Indonesia). All of these forms were put to good use by Anwar Sadat and Hairan and their success team to successfully attract and gain support from the people of Tanjung Jabung Barat district.
