Skripsi, Jambi: Program Studi Pendidikan Kimia, Jurusan Pendidikan Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam, Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan, Universitas Jambi, Pembimbing I: Dr. Drs. Haryanto, M.Kes., Pembimbing II: Dr. Dra. Zurweni, M.Si. Kata Kunci: Problem Based Learning, Open Ended Problem, Berpikir Kreatif, dan Partikel Penyusun Benda dan Makhluk Hidup. Kurikulum 2013 dirancang dengan pertimbangan relevansi terhadap konteks revolusi industri 4.0, sehingga memberikan output generasi bangsa yang dapat memberikan suatu terobosan ide atau gagasan baru yang diperoleh dari kemampuan berpikir kreatif. Dengan segala keterbatasan interaksi fisik dan sosial, model PBL berbasis Open Ended Problem memberikan efisiensi dan efektivitas dalam orientasi peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuktikan model PBL berbasis Open Ended Problem dapat melatih kreativitas siswa pada materi partikel penyusun benda dan makhluk hidup di SMPN Satu Atap Ladang Peris Batang Hari. Metode penelitian Quasi Expriment ini adalah penelitian dengan rancangan one Group Pretest-Posttest Nonequivalent Design yang menggambarkan hubungan sebab akibat dengan teknik total sampling. Kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa diukur dengan instrumen tes essay yang terdiri dari 5 butir soal dan lembar observasi sebagai data pendukung Hasil analisis data menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan model PBL berbasis Open Ended Problem memberikan pengaruh terhadap kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa yang dibuktikan dengan adanya peningkatan hasil rata-rata pretest dan posttest yaitu 55% - 71% dengan selisih kenaikan 16%. Berdasarkan data yang diperoleh didapatkan hasil perhitungan yakni thitung sebesar 2,9970 dan ttabel sebesar 1,8595 dengan taraf nyata α= 5%. Jika ditinjau dari hasil per indikator kemampuan berpikir kreatif pada pretest - posttest berturut-turut yaitu; sensitivity 25% - 75%, fluency 50% - 90%, flexibility 45% - 50%, originality 45% - 50%, dan elaboration 50% - 75%. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan, disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan model PBL berbasis Open Ended Problem dapat melatih kreativitas siswa pada materi partikel penyusun benda dan makhluk hidup SMPN Satu Atap Ladang Peris Batang Hari. The 2013 curriculum is designed with consideration of relevance to the context of the industrial revolution 4.0, so as to provide output for the nation's generation that can provide a breakthrough for new ideas or ideas obtained from creative thinking skills. With all the limitations of physical and social interactions, the PBL model based on the Open Ended Problem provides efficiency and effectiveness in the orientation of increasing students' creative thinking abilities. This study aims to prove that the PBL model based on the Open Ended Problem can train students' creativity in the matter of particles making up objects and living things at SMPN Satu Atap Ladang Peris Batang Hari. This quasi-expriment research method is a one-group pretest-posttest non-equivalent design research that describes a causal relationship with a total sampling technique. Students' creative thinking ability is measured by an essay test instrument consisting of 5 questions and an observation sheet as supporting data The results of data analysis showed that the use of the PBL model based on the Open Ended Problem had an effect on students' creative thinking abilities as evidenced by an increase in the average results of pretest and posttest, namely 55% - 71% with a difference of 16% increase. Based on the data obtained, the calculation results obtained that tcount is 2.9970 and ttable is 1.8595 with a real level of = 5%. If viewed from the results per indicator of the ability to think creatively on the pretest - posttest in a row, namely; sensitivity 25% - 75%, fluency 50% - 90%, flexibility 45% - 50%, originality 45% - 50%, and elaboration 50% - 75%. Based on the research conducted, it was concluded that the use of the PBL model based on the Open Ended Problem could train students' creativity in the matter of particles making up objects and living things at SMPN Satu Atap Ladang Peris Batang Hari.
