Abstract

Mathematical creative thinking ability is a habit that is formed based on intellectual commitment, in using this ability to become the basis for human behavior or personality. The personality type related to the ability to think creatively is the DISC personality type. This research is a type of qualitative research that uses descriptive qualitative research methodology. This research will be carried out on seventh grade students of Guang Ming Private Junior High School, Jambi City. What is described in this study is the highest level of students' mathematical creative thinking skills based on the personality type of dominance, influence, steady, compliance (DISC) in solving set problems. The results of the personality test designed by Edysen Shin obtained 6 students with Dominant personality type, 3 students with Influential personality type, 4 students with Steady personality type, and 5 students with Compliant personality type, then because the researcher used purposive sampling technique, 1 student was taken from each personality type: dominance, influence, steady, compliance based on the top absent and students who have a very high personality type as the research sample. From the results obtained, it can be concluded that dominant students have a level of creative thinking ability that is less creative, influential students have a creative thinking ability level that is quite creative, steady students have a creative thinking ability level that is creative, and compliant students have a creative thinking ability level that is very creative.
