Abstract
Integrating technology is essential to be implemented in teaching and learning in the classroom. Moreover, during the teaching practice program, there were some challenges that arise and hinder the integration of technology among EFL student teachers during their teaching in the classroom. Along with this, the researcher aimed to investigate the challenges and explore the strategies that EFL student teachers faced during teaching practice. This research was conducted in the English department at one university in Jambi. The participants in this research were eight EFL student teachers in the seventh semester that had completed teaching practice batch 2021 in several junior high schools and senior high schools in Jambi. This research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach and the researcher used interview as the instrument to obtain the data. The researcher used purposive sampling to select the appropriate participants by using criteria. To analyze the data, the researcher used thematic analysis. The result of this study showed that the participants faced several challenges that hinder the integration of technology that come up by external (first order-barrier) and internal factors (second-order barrier). To solve the problem, the participants used some strategies that consist of managing resources and classroom activities, identifying comprehensive media, and self-reflection.
