Abstract

Background: Garbage is one of the environmental problems that has not been resolved either globally or nationally. Jambi City is the city with the highest waste generation in Jambi Province. Apart from household waste, the waste comes from the traditional market waste, aur thorn, which produces 3-4 tons of waste per day. Market waste, if not managed properly, can have an impact on health and the environment. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between knowledge, attitudes, age, education level, and waste disposal facilities on waste management. Methods: This study used an analytical survey method with a cross sectional. The sampling technique used accidental random sampling. The sample of this research is 90 people. Results: The results showed that there was a significant relationship between knowledge (pvalue = 0.015), attitudes (pvalue =0.023), waste disposal facilities (pvalue =0.001), there was no significant between age (pvalue =0.928), education level (pvalue =0.079) and waste management at Aur Duri Traditional Market Conclusion: the conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between knowledge, attitudes, and waste disposal facilities, and there is no relationship between age, education level and waste management.
