Abstract
ABSTRACT Sinta Pravia. (2022). “Analysis of Social Development and Emotion Development in Class VI SD 150 Jambi City Students in Science Learning During the Covid-19 Pandemic Period”. Thesis of the Master of Basic Education Prgram Jambi University. Advisor I Prof. Dr.Dra.Nazurty, M.Pd and Advisor II Dr.Muhammad Ali, S.Pd., M.Pd. Background The existence of the Covid-19 virus has made learning process which is usually done face to face is currently being carried out in a limited manner. Changes in this learning system can provide changes to the social development and emotion development of students. The classroom environment is an environtment that is a supporting factor in the social development and emotion development of students in elementary school. Objective Purpose of this research is to find about how the social development and emotion development of class VI SD Negeri 150 Jambi City students in science learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This research use a descriptive qualitative method. Determination of participants in this study using purposive sampling technique. Participants in this research were 8 people, 7 people were grade VI students at SD Negeri 150 Jambi City and 1 person a teacher at class VI SD Negeri 150. Results The results in this research, because of Covid-19 pandemic, all learning activities are limited. In emotion development student indicate negatives emotion patterns, Example: angry, fear, sadness, and longing for their friends. In social development, have a limitations in interacting socially, assignments and exercises are done individually, students do not know their friends well and etc. Keywords: Social Development, Emotion Developments, Students
