Abstract

Muara Karing Waterfall Geopark is a potential tourist area that has the beauty of waterfalls and rock fossils. In maintaining sustainability and natural conditions that have their own uniqueness. So a partnership was made between the Regional Government, especially the Youth and Sports Tourism Office of the Merangin Regency with the Muara Karing Waterfall Tourism Awareness Group. The purpose of this study is to identify and explain the pattern of partnership between the local government and the community in the management of tourism object development. In addition, to describe the objectives and benefits and explain the constraints in the partnership process. The research method used is qualitative research method with descriptive research type. The object of research is the Muara Karing Waterfall Geopark Tourism in Renah Pembarap District, Merangin Regency. Sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data obtained from interviews and literature study. The results of this study indicate that the partnership carried out by the Youth and Sports Tourism Office with the Tourism Awareness Group in the development of Muara Karing Waterfall Tourism is quite successful, especially in terms of community development to change the maindset of the importance of protecting nature and making people aware of tourism. From this success, it certainly has a positiveimpact on the community, namely increasing income so that it changes the standard of living of the community which results in increased community welfare. However, the partnerships carried out are limited to fostering the community and the absence of infrastructure development to support tourism objects due to the lack of involvement from public institutions and the absence of the private sector.
