Abstract
Ainia Qotrunnada, 2022, English Students’ Responses toward Written Corrective Feedback (WCF) A Case Study at Pondok Pesantren Modren Al-Khalifah Sarolangun. A Thesis. . English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Jambi University. Advisors. This study aimed to describe the students’ responses to teacher’s written corrective feedback in writing recount text: a case at Pondok Pesantren Modren Al-Khalifah Sarolangun. This is a qualitative research. The subject was 10 students of tenth grade. Documentation and interviews were used for collecting data The data analysis was based on three steps, namely familiarizing and organizing, coding and reducing and interpreting and representing. The result of this study showed that the students are happy with the feedback from the teacher. Students also prefer to direct feedback rather than indirect feedback. The students feel that direct feedback is clearer than indirect feedback. The teacher gave direct corrective feedback on the students’ error in grammar. They also showed positive responses when most of the students answered that they would revise their writing if their errors were corrected by the teacher and chose for direct corrective feedback.
