Abstract
This study aimed to know English pre-service teachers’ problems found during online teaching and how do English pre-service teachers prepare for online teaching in the academic year of 2020/2021. It was qualitative research in which the researcher investigated four pre-service teachers of the English Study Program at Universitas Jambi. They were in the seventh semester and experienced the internship school program. An interview was used as the research technique to gain information from the participants. The researcher did the interview online for about 10-15 minutes using a semi-structured interview. Researchers found several problems in online teaching, namely internet connection issues, students’ concentration loss, lack of interaction between teachers and students, and lack of online devices. Then, the interview result revealed that the pre-service teacher needed to prepare a lesson plan, learning materials and tools, and a learning platform before starting the online class.
