Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan bobot karkas dan persentase karkas diantara dua kelompok ayam kampung hasil seleksi pada generasi kedua. Pengelompokkan ayam pada generasi pertama (G1) berdasarkan sifat kualitatifnya (warna bulu) yaitu hitam dan non hitam yang terdiri dari putih, coklat, abu-abu, dan campuran hitam dan putih. Materi yang digunakan adalah 120 ekor ayam kampung, masing-masing kelompok 60 ekor. Ayam dipelihara mulai dari DOC sampai umur 10 minggu kemudian dilakukan pemotongan untuk pengambilan data. Rancangan penelitian yang digunakan adalah Rancangan acak lengkap (RAL) dengan 2 perlakuan dan 10 ulangan. Data yang diperoleh dari hasil penelitian ini dianalisis menggunakan uji T. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bobot potong ayam kampung berwarna hitam sangat nyata lebih tinggi (P<0,01) dari bobot potong ayam kampung berwarna non hitam, masing-masing sebesar 1138,2 ± 135,7 gram dan 1022,4 ± 140,6 gram. Bobot karkas kelompok ayam kampung berwarna hitam berbeda nyata (P<0,05) dengan bobot karkas kelompok ayam kampung berwarna non hitam, masing-masing sebesar 737,2 ± 93,6 gram dan 675,7 ± 103,0 gram. Persentase karkas ayam kampung kelompok berwarna hitam berbeda tidak nyata (P>0,05) dengan kelompok ayam kampung berwarna non hitam, masing-masing sebesar 64,8 ± 1,7% dan 66,1 ± 2,6%. Jika dibandingkan dengan generasi pertama (G1), maka bobot potong dan bobot karkas pada hasil penelitian ini (G2) lebih tinggi. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah ayam kampung kelompok warna hitam memiliki performans yang lebih baik untuk dikembangkan pada generasi berikutnya melalui program seleksi karena terdapat kenaikan bobot potong dan bobot karkas pada generasi kedua (G2). This study aimed to determine the difference in carcass weight and carcass percentage between two groups of free-range chickens selected in the second generation. The grouping of chickens in the first generation (G1) based on their qualitative characteristics (feather color), namely black and non-black consisting of white, brown, gray, and a mixture of black and white. The material used was 120 free-range chickens, each group was 60. Chickens were reared from DOC until the age of 10 weeks and then slaughtered for data collection. The research design used was a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2 treatments and 10 replications. The data obtained from the results of this study were analyzed using the T test. The results showed that the slaughter weight of black free-range chicken was significantly higher (P<0.01) than the slaughter weight of non-black native chickens, each of 1138.2 ± 135.7 grams and 1022.4 ± 140.6 grams. The carcass weight of the black free-range chicken group was significantly different (P<0.05) with the non-black group of free-range chickens, respectively 737.2 ± 93.6 grams and 675.7 ± 103.0 grams. The percentage of chicken carcasses in the black group was not significantly different (P>0.05) with the non-black group, 64.8 ± 1.7% and 66.1 ± 2.6%, respectively. When compared with the first generation (G1), the slaughter weight and carcass weight in the results of this study (G2) were higher. The conclusion of this study was that the black group chicken had better performance to be developed in the next generation through a selection program because there was an increase in slaughter weight and carcass weight in the second generation (G2).
