Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of bull breeds on the success rate of IB in the form of Service per conception (S/C) or IB services per pregnancy, Conception rate (CR) or pregnancy rate and calf sex ratio in Pemayung District. The material used in this study was the recording of artificial insemination (IB) of cattle in 2018 and 2019 from the Indonesian Animal Health Information System (ISIKHNAS), then questionnaires for breeders. The parameters observed were Service per conception (S/C) or IB services per pregnancy, Conception rate (CR) or pregnancy rate and calf sex ratio. The data obtained were analyzed using T-test and Chi-square. The results showed that the male race had no significant effect (P>0.05) on Service per conception (S/C) with a value of 1.69 ± 2.31, the Conception rate (CR) value obtained varied from (20 - 50%) and the calf sex ratio ranges from 0 to 62.5%. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the male race does not affect the value of S/C, CR and calf sex ratio.
