Abstract

ABSTRACK This study aims to describe the Participation Of Elderly Voters in The Gubernatorial Election in Jambi Province In 2020. This research method uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive type. The results of this study are: First, the participation of the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic has greatly decreased compared to previous years. Due to this pandemic, many elderly people choose to stay at home because of the pandemic conditions that make them afraid to go to the TPS to elect the 2020 Jambi Provincial Head candidate. However, there are still many elderly people who are enthusiastic about the 2020 Jambi Provincial Head Election. Those who went directly to the designated TPS were also assisted by KPPS officers who assisted in the voting process. Second, the Jambi Provincial KPU's strategy in increasing the participation of the elderly in the 2020 Jambi Province Regional Head Election is one of them by outreach to the community to all levels of society, religious shops, young people. The socialization method used by the KPU to this segment is in the form of face-to-face. In addition, the implementation of this socialization also when viewed from the content of the socialization material, the target of the socialization, as well as the methods used by the KPU showed that it was in line with existing regulations and disseminated socialization props such as brochures, pamphlets, posters, etc. in increasing public participation in the post-conflict local election, what is being done is to form democracy volunteers. The democracy volunteer program is a social movement intended to increase the participation and quality of voters in exercising their right to vote. This program involves the widest possible participation of the community where they are placed as pioneers of democracy for their communities. INTISARI Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan tentang Partisipsi Pemilih Lanjut Usia Pada Pemilihan Gubernur di Provinsi Jambi Tahun 2020. Metode Penelitian Ini Menggunakan Pendekatan Kualitatif dengan tipe deskriptif. Hasil dari Penelitian ini yaitu: Pertama, Partisipasi lansia pada masa pandemi Covid-19 sangat menurun dibandingkan tahun-tahun sebelumnya. Karena pandemi ini banyak lansia yang memilih untuk tetap tinggal dirumah karena kondisi pandemi yang membuat mereka takut untuk pergi ke TPS untuk melakukan pemilhan calon Kepala Daerah Provinsi Jambi 2020. Akan tetapi masih banyak lansia yang antusias dengan Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Provinsi Jambi 2020 ada yang dari mereka yang langsung mendatangi TPS yang telah ditentukan adapula yang dibantu oleh petugas KPPS yang membantu proses pemungutan suara. Kedua, Strategi KPU Provinsi Jambi dalam meningkatkan Partisipasi Lansia dalam Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Provinsi Jambi Tahun 2020 salah satunya dengan sosialiasi kepada masyarakat kepada seluruh lapisan masyarakat, toko agama, para anak muda. Metode sosialisasi yang digunakanoleh KPU kepada segmen ini yaitu berupa tatap muka. Selain itu pelaksanaan sosialisasi ini juga bila dilihat dari muatan materi sosialisasi, sasaran soialisasi, serta metode yang digunakan oleh KPU menunjukan sudah sejalan dengan peraturan yang ada serta menyebarkan alat peraga sosialisasi seperti brosur, panflet, poster dll. Dalam meningkatkan partisipasi masyarakat dalam pemilukada, hal yang dilakukan adalah dengan membentuk relawan demokrasi, Program relawan demokrasi adalah gerakan sosial yang dimaksudkan untuk meningkatkan partisipasi dan kualitas pemilih dalam menggunakan hak pilih. Program ini melibatkan peran serta masyarakat yang seluas-luasnya dimana mereka ditempatkan sebagai pelopor demokrasi bagi komunitasnya. Kata Kunci :Partisipsi, Lansia, KPU Provinsi Jambi, dan Pemilihan Kepala Daerah Provinsi Jambi.
