Abstract
Background: Stress is an internal condition in which a person experiences an imbalance in physical, psychological and behavioral changes in workers including honorary teachers. Occupational health and safety is an effort to protect workers, especially teachers, from various hazards or adverse impacts on teaching and learning activities in schools. During this pandemic, the demands of the teacher's workload increase and it is feared that it will cause work stress. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors associated with the level of work stress on honorary teachers at SMP Negeri Jambi City. Methods : This study uses a quantitative method with an analytical observational design with a cross sectional approach. The sampling technique is purposive sampling. The sample in this study were teachers who were registered at the Jambi City Education Office as honorary teachers at Junior High School Jambi City, which is 100 people. The independent variables in this study were age, years of service, income, workload, interpersonal conflicts, and side jobs, while the dependent variable was the level of work stress. Data analysis technique using univariate analysis and bivariate analysis. Statistical test using Chi-Square test with 95% confidence level and 5% confidence. Result: Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that there was no significant relationship between the variables of age (p-value = 1.000), years of service (p-value = 0.627), side jobs (p-value = 0.558) with the level of work stress. Based on the results of statistical tests, it was found that there was significant relationship between the variables of variable income (p-value = 0.022), workload (p-value=0.026), and interpersonal conflict (p-value=0.012 ). Conclusion: There is a relationship between income, workload variables and interpersonal conflict on level of job stress on honorary teachers in public junior high school at Jambi City.
