Abstract

The spread of the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia caused several changes in various sectors, such as education in Indonesia. The learning system of various universities in Indonesia has changed using e-learning. and of course reap various perceptions regarding the pros and cons of various aspect such as material, assessment, the learning prosess and the use of e-learning itself. This research aims to know the students’ perception toward e-learning during Covid-19 pandemic in English study program at Jambi University. The design of this research is Descriptive Quantitative. The research population was the English Department’s students at the University of Jambi, consisting of 143 samples. The random sampling technique was used, and a questionnaire collected the data. The researcher used the Likert Scale and descriptive analysis to analyse the data. Based on the result of this research was presented descriptively to reveal the students’ perceptions comprehensively. The research found E-learning gets a positive perception because the students liked and enjoyed the benefits od e-learning activities. And most of the students who participated in the study perceive e-learning is platforms as a user friendly and also practical since it saves time and effort. It is flexible and effective, and it could be concluded that students enjoyed the benefits of e-learning. Meanwhile, its flexibility motivates some students, but some are lazy and choose to procrastinate the assignments. Keywords: Perception, E-Learning, Covid-19 Pandemic.
