Abstract

The spread of covid-19 warned the government to make regulations for carrying out online learning. It influences the educational activity, and it will impact English online learning, the problem appears due to the substitution of the learning process from conventional to online learning. So the researcher is curious about the strategies implemented by teachers in teaching during online learning classes. In this research, the researcher focuses on the analysis of teachers’ strategies on English learning classes during the covid-19 pandemic at MTS N 1 Kota Jambi. In conducting research, the researcher uses qualitative research. In this research, the researcher used the interview to collect the data. Based on the research findings, the teachers' strategies on English learning classes during the online system, the strategies that teachers often used in the English learning classes during the covid-19 pandemic at MTS N 1 Kota Jambi used strategies video as a learning media. Teachers used this strategy because it is more interesting and easier to student understand the learning material. Several other strategies are sometimes used by teachers, but they are very rare because they are less efficient in the online learning process.
