Abstract

Dalam sosiolinguistik, masyarakat menggunakan berbagai bahasa. Ini membantu orang untuk membentuk pendapat, pemikiran, dan mengekspresikan perasaan dengan cara yang berbeda tergantung pada situasi apa yang mereka hadapi. Menurut Holmes (2013:275), ada enam kategori fungsi tutur dalam berkomunikasi, yaitu ekspresif, direktif, referensial, metalinguistik, puitis, dan fatis. Fungsi bicara tidak hanya terjadi di kehidupan nyata tetapi juga terjadi di media modern seperti YouTube. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menganalisis fungsi bicara yang digunakan oleh salah satu beauty vlogger 'Tati'. Ada dua pertanyaan penelitian: 1) Kategori fungsi bicara apa yang digunakan oleh beauty vlogger 'Tati' dalam videonya? 2) Apa kategori fungsi bicara yang paling dominan digunakan oleh beauty vlogger 'Tati' dalam videonya? Peneliti menggunakan penelitian kualitatif untuk menganalisis data karena sesuai dengan penelitian. Peneliti menggunakan skrip dari Saluran YouTube Tati. Setelah itu, peneliti menganalisis data dengan mengkodekan dan mengkategorikan ucapan. Semua tuturan dianalisis dan dikategorikan berdasarkan teori fungsi tutur Holmes pada tahun 2013. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian, hanya ada empat kategori fungsi tutur dalam penelitian ini yang digunakan oleh Tati. Ada fungsi ekspresif, direktif, referensial dan fatis. Dari hasil penelitian, fungsi referensial merupakan kategori fungsi tutur yang paling dominan digunakan oleh Tati. Persentase fungsi referensial dalam video 1 adalah 39,58% dengan 74 ucapan, video 2 memiliki 46,90% dengan 83 ucapan, dan video 3 memiliki 51,72% dengan 75 ucapan. Kesimpulannya, persentase total fungsi referensial adalah 45,58% dengan 232 ucapan sebagai jumlah ucapan dari ketiga video. In sociolinguistics, societies use a variety of language. It helps people to form opinions, thoughts, and express feelings in different ways depending on what situation they are facing. According to Holmes (2013:275), there are six categories of speech function in communicating, there are expressive, directive, referential, metalinguistic, poetic, and phatic. Speech function does not only occur in the real-life but also occurs in modern media such as YouTube. The purpose of this research is to analyze the speech functions used by one of the beauty vlogger ‘Tati’. There are two research questions: 1) What categories of speech functions are used by beauty vlogger ‘Tati’ in her videos? 2) What is the most dominant category of speech functions used by beauty vlogger ‘Tati’ in her videos? The researcher used qualitative research to analyze the data because it fits the research. The researcher used the scripts from Tati’s YouTube Channel. After that, the researcher analyzed the data by coding and categorizing the utterances. All of the utterances were analyzed and categorized based on Holmes’ speech function theory in 2013. Based on the result, there are only four categories of speech function in this research that used by Tati. There are expressive, directive, referential and phatic functions. From the result, referential function is the most dominant categories of speech functions used by Tati. The percentage of referential function in video 1 is 39.58% with 74 utterances, video 2 has 46.90% with 83 utterances, and video 3 has 51.72% with 75 utterances. In conclusion, the total percentage of the referential function is 45.58% with 232 utterances as the amount of utterances from the three videos.
