Abstrak Rilda, A. 2022. Analisis Umpan Balik Korektif Lisan Dosen Terhadap Performa Mahasiswa Dalam Kelas Orasi di Salah Satu Universitas Negeri di Jambi. Skripsi. Program Studi Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris. Fakultas Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Jambi Tahun Pelajaran 2021/2022. Pembimbing pertama adalah Dr. Mukhlash Abrar, S.S., M.Hum. Pembimbing kedua adalah Dr. Reli Handayani, S.S., M.Pd. Kata kunci: Berbicara, Kualitatif, Performa, Umpan Balik Korektif Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi jenis-jenis umpan balik korektif lisan yang digunakan oleh dosen dalam mengoreksi performa berbicara siswa di Kelas Orasi di salah satu Universitas di Jambi dan alasan mereka memilih jenis umpan balik korektif lisan tertentu. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Partisipan dalam penelitian ini adalah tiga orang dosen yang mengajar di kelas orasi. Pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini dilakukan melalui wawancara dan observasi semi terstruktur dengan pedoman protokol wawancara dan checklist observasi sebagai instrumennya. Kemudian, penelitian ini menemukan bahwa dosen menggunakan umpan balik korektif lisan dengan memberikan reformulasi melalui koreksi eksplisit dan recast dan memberikan prompt melalui permintaan klarifikasi, umpan balik metalinguistik, dan pengulangan. Kemudian, alasan mengapa dosen menggunakan beberapa jenis umpan balik korektif lisan adalah karena mereka mempertimbangkan tingkat dan keterampilan mahasiswa dan mempersiapkan mahasiswa untuk kompetisi global. Kesimpulannya, ditemukan bahwa dosen hanya menerapkan lima jenis umpan balik korektif lisan yang dikemukakan oleh Lyster dan Ranta (1997) seperti koreksi eksplisit, recast, permintaan klarifikasi, umpan balik metalinguistik dan pengulangan. Keywords: Corrective Feedback, Performance, Speaking, Qualitative The objectives of this research were to explore the types of oral corrective feedback used by lecturer in correcting students’ speaking performance in Oracy Class at One Public University in Jambi and their reasons for choosing certain type(s) of oral corrective feedback. This research was qualitative research with a case study approach. The participants of this research were three lecturers who teach Oracy Class. The data in this research were collected through semi-structured interviews and observations with the guidance of interview protocol and observation checklist as the instruments. Then, this study found that lecturers used oral corrective feedback by giving reformulation through explicit correction and recast and giving prompt through clarification request, metalinguistic feedback, and repetition. Then, the reasons why the lecturers used certain types of oral corrective feedback were because they were considering the students’ level and skills and preparing the students for global competition. In conclusion, it was found that the lecturers only applied five types of oral corrective feedback proposed by Lyster and Ranta (1997) such as explicit correction, recast, clarification request, metalinguistic feedback and repetition.
