Abstract
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are a problem in global national funds, one of which is hypertension. Hypertension occurs through a systolic blood pressure of 140 mmHg and a diastolic blood pressure of 90 mmHg. The World Health Organization (WHO) states ± 1.28 billion individuals worldwide suffer from hypertension. Objective: This study aims to determine the factors associated with the incidence of hypertension. Methods: his type of research is quantitative observational with cross-sectional design, conducted in May 2022, the number of samples is 91 respondents with accidental sampling technique. Data were collected through questionnaire interviews, measurement of blood pressure, weight and height. Results: Analyzed univariate and bivariate using Chi-Square test with <0.05 with SPSS 25 . software. Results: The prevalence of hypertension in the community was 58 (63.7%). The risk factors for hypertension included age (p=0.454; PR=1.301), gender (p=0.665; PR=1.082), family history (p=0.004; PR=0.616), obesity status (p=0.154; PR= 1,354 ), physical activity (p=0.008; PR=1.531), smoking status (p=0.520; PR=1.111) and consumption of fatty foods (p=0.000; PR=3.952). Conclusion: Variables related to the incidence of hypertension are family history, physical activity and consumption of fatty foods. It is necessary to regularly check blood pressure and avoid risk factors that can cause hypertension such as family history, physical activity and consumption of fatty foods. Keywords: Hypertension, Consumption size Fatty Foods, physical activity and Family History
