Abstract

The rampant circulation of illegal cigarettes causes the percentage of state revenue to decrease every year and has the potential to cause the number of smokers and novice smokers to increase. This study aims to determine the supervision of the circulation of illegal cigarettes in the city of Jambi by the Customs and Excise Supervision and Service Office of Jambi Customs Type B and to find out the obstacles in supervising the circulation of illegal cigarettes in the city of Jambi by the Office of Supervision and Service of Customs and Excise Madya Customs B. Jambi, this research is located in the city of Jambi, namely the Office of Supervision and Service of Customs and Excise Type Madya Customs B Jambi. Data collection techniques used are observation, interviews and documentation. From the results of the study, it was concluded that: First, the Office of Supervision and Service of Customs and Excise Intermediate Customs B Jambi carried out the task of supervising the distribution of illegal cigarettes in Jambi City to the maximum. However, the implementation has not been optimal because there are still factors that hinder the implementation of the supervision. Second, the obstacles in supervising the circulation of illegal cigarettes in Jambi City by the Customs and Excise Service and Customs Office of Jambi Customs Type B are the lack of human resources, the wide area of supervision and the lack of facilities and infrastructure.
