Abstract
ABSTRACT Zulaimi, Mimi. 2017. Teacher, technique in Teaching Speaking at SMA Negeri 3 Kota Jambi. A Thesis The Faculty of Teacher Training and education, Jambi University. The first supervisor is Rd. M. Ali, S.Pd,M.Pd, the second supervisor is Nely Arif, S.Pd,M.Pd. Key words : technique, teaching speaking, teacher This thesis was aimed to investigate the teacher’s techniques in teaching speaking at SMA N 3 Kota Jambi. Technique is implementation that which actually takes place in classroom. There are 13 techniques that can be applied by teachers teaching Gap, brainstroming, storytelling, interview story completion, reporting, plating cards and Picture Narrating. The methond used in this research was descriptive qualitative, the subjects of this research were the teachers who taught speaking class at SMA N 3 Kota Jambi. The data of this research was desriptive qualitative. The subjects of this research were the teachers who taught english speaking class. It included with teachniques used by the teachers in teaching speaking class. The observation result of in teaching speaking class. They were discussion technique, role play technique, and reporting technique, however, the result of interview data analysis indicated that there we there techiques that usually used by the teachers in teaching speaking while in fact that the teachers need to vary their ways in teaching soeaking. There fore, it was suggested for the teachers to echance their ability in teaching speaking by using various technique in their teaching and learning process.
