Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh setiap variabel yaitu motivasi mengajar dan soft skill terhadap kesiapan mengajar pada mahasiswa jurusan PIPS Angkatan 2018 FKIP Universitas Jambi. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada jurusan Pendidikan Ilmu Pengetahuan Sosial FKIP Universitas Jambi Maret 2022. Data penelitian diperoleh dengan cara menyebarkan angket kepada mahasiswa Jurusan PIPS Angkatan 2018 melalui Google Form. Setelah angket dibagikan, data dianalisis secara kuantitatif menggunakan aplikasi MS. Excel dan SPSS 21.0. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa motivasi mengajar dan soft skill sangat mempengaruhi kesiapan mengajar mahasiswa khususnya mahasiswa jurusan PIPS yang mana faktor yang mempengaruhi nya yaitu motivasi menjadi tenaga pengajar dan soft skill mahasiswa yang bersifat positif aka sangat berpengaruh terhadap kesiapan mengajar. Hal tersebut dapat ditunjukkan dengan perhitungan analisis menggunakan uji F yang mana nilai Fhitung lebih besar dari Ftabel yaitu 147,073 > 3,1 dan nilai sig lebih besar dari nilai probabilitas 0,05 atau 0,00 < 0,05. Artinya Ho ditolak dan Ha diterima yang berarti bahwa variabel bebas yaitu motivasi mengajar dan soft skill secara bersama-sama berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap variabel terikat yaitu kesiapan mengajar mahasiswa dengan kontribusi nilai R² yaitu sebesar 69,2%. Hal ini berarti secara bersama-sama variabel motivasi mengajar dan soft skill mampu memberikan kontribusi terhadap kesiapan mengajar. Dari hasil penelitian ini disarankan agar mahasiswa yang setelah menyelesaikan pendidikan sarjana dan ingin melanjutkan pada bidang tenaga pengajar, diharapkan untuk meningkatkan kualitas pada kesiapan mengajar agar pendidikan di Indonesia semakin baik, karena pendidikan di Indonesia masih dalam kategori kurang baik dan untuk meningkatkannya tersebut bisa melalui tenaga pengajarnya yang memiliki kualitas yang baik. This study aims to describe the effect of each variable, namely teaching motivation and soft skills on teaching readiness to students majoring in PIPS Force 2018 FKIP Jambi University. This research was conducted at the Department of Social Science Education, FKIP Jambi University, March 2022. The research data was obtained by distributing questionnaires to students of the 2018 PIPS Department through Google Form. After the questionnaires were distributed, the data were analyzed quantitatively using the MS application. Excel and SPSS 21.0. The results of the study indicate that teaching motivation and soft skills greatly affect student teaching readiness, especially students majoring in PIPS where the influencing factors are motivation to become teaching staff and student soft skills which are positive will greatly affect teaching readiness. This can be shown by calculating the analysis using the F test where the Fcount value is greater than Ftable, namely 147.073 > 3.1 and the sig value is greater than the probability value of 0.05 or 0.00 < 0.05. This means that Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, which means that the independent variables, namely teaching motivation and soft skills together have a significant effect on the dependent variable, namely student teaching readiness with a contribution of R² value of 69.2%. This means that together the variables of teaching motivation and soft skills are able to contribute to teaching readiness. From the results of this study, it is suggested that students who after completing undergraduate education and want to continue in the field of teaching staff, are expected to improve the quality of teaching readiness so that education in Indonesia is getting better, because education in Indonesia is still in the poor category and to improve it can be through human resources. teachers who have good quality.
