Abstract
Since it turned out that students and teachers have numerous barriers when conducting fully online learning, thus their learning is not optimal. The process of learning still requires the presence of face-to-face meeting. Blended learning is seemed to be a solution to the problems associated with online learning and proper to apply in the current situation during a pandemic. In this case, it raises the perception of teachers during blended learning implementation. This research used qualitative research. The subjects in this research were three English teachers at SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi. Semi-structured interview was used for collecting the data. Then, the data were analyzed in accordance with Miles and Hubberman theory. In this research, blended learning model implemented by the teachers were using flipped classroom model. It was found that the teachers tend to emphasize the convenience of face-to-face integration in blended learning. They perceived greater learning efficacy in face-to-face sessions than in online ones. However, the English teachers at SMP Negeri 19 Kota Jambi showed positive attitudes toward the implementation of blended learning in their English class. They admitted that blended learning was capable of decreasing the pressure of teaching during a pandemic. With a blended learning system, it can facilitate teachers to do things that are difficult to do in online class.
