Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research to knowed and analyzed the reason for the election of Edi Purwanto as chairman Jambi province’a DPRD 2019-2024 period. This type of research was descriptive qualitative with primer and secondary data. Data collection used interviews and docuemntation. Selection of informants by purposive sampling and qualitative descriptive data analysis. The result of this research was the reason for the election of Edi Purwanto as chairman Jambi province’a DPRD 2019-2024 period consist of three things, namely legal formal power including law number 17 of 2014 about MPR, DPR, DPD and DPRD (MD3) which stipulates that the election of the leadership of the provincial DPRD is based on the majority of the parties votes, rational power in the form of rules in the ADART of the PDI-Perjuangan parties which has priority for the chairman as the leader of the Jambi Province’s DPRD, and charismatic power includes Edi Purwanto’s involvement in the PDI-Perjuangan parties, ability as parties leader in achieving goals, active in organizations and have a good political career. Keywords: electability, Edi Purwanto, chairperson of the provincial DPRD ABSTRAK Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan menganalisis penyebab terpilihnya Edi Purwanto sebagai Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi Periode 2019-2024. Jenis penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif dengan sumber data primer dan data sekunder. Pengumpulan data menggunakan wawancara dan dokumentasi. Pemilihan informan secara purposive sampling dan analisis data secara deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penyebab terpilihnya Edi Purwanto sebagai Ketua DPRD Provinsi Jambi Periode 2019-2024 terdiri dari 3 hal yaitu kekuasaan legal formal meliputi Undang-Undang Nomor 17 Tahun 2014 Tentang MPR, DPR, DPD dan DPRD (MD3) yang mengatur bahwa keterpilihan pimpinan DPRD Provinsi didasarkan pada perolehan suara partai terbanyak, kekuasaan rasional berupa adanya aturan dalam Pasal 7 ADART Partai PDI-Perjuangan tahun 2019-2024 yang memiliki prioritas untuk ketua sebagai pimpinan DPRD Provinsi Jambi, serta kekuasaan karismatik meliputi keterlibatan Edi purwanto dalam partai PDI-Perjuangan, kemampuan sebagai pimpinan partai dalam mencapai tujuan, aktif dalam organisasi dan memiliki karir politik yang baik.
