Abstract

ABSTRAK Mangrove Desa Muara Seberang, Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat merupakan habitat blongkeng (Telescopium telescopium), salah satu anggota kelas gastropoda. Meningkatnya aktivitas penduduk seperti pembangunan pemukiman dan pelabuhan dikhawatirkan berdampak pada populasi blongkeng. Sementara itu informasi ekologinya belum banyak diungkap diantaranya pola distribusi dan kepadatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengetahui pola distribusi dan kepadatannya. Data diambil pada tiga stasiun pengambilan sampel yang ditentukan berdasarkan tingkat penggunaan lahan oleh masyarakat sekitar yaitu dekat pemukiman warga (stasiun 1), tepi hutan mangrove (stasiun 2) dan dalam hutan mangrove (stasiun 3). Pada tiap sub stasiun dibuat 2 transek sepanjang 45 m dengan jarak antara transek 10 m. Pada setiap transek dibuat 5 buah plot, masing-masing plot berukuran 5m x 5m dengan jarak 5m antara plot. Faktor fisik dan kimia habitat yang diukur adalah suhu air, oksigen terlarut (DO), pH, salinitas, dan jenis substrat. Pola distribusi blongkeng dihitung dengan indeks morisita, sedangkan kepadatan dihitung berdasarkan banyaknya jumlah individu per satuan luas. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pola distribusi blongkeng di Desa Muara Seberang seragam dan mengelompok. Kepadatan tertinggi berada di stasiun 2 dengan 25,5 ind/m2 diikuti stasiun 3 dengan 15,3 ind/m2 dan stasiun 1 dengan 10 ind/m2. Lingkungan habitat, perlindungan dan pakan diketahui mempengaruhi kepadatan blongkeng, sedangkan distribusi blongkeng dipengaruhi oleh kombinasi beberapa faktor lingkungan. Kata kunci : kepadatan, pola distribusi, Telescopium telescopium ABSTRACT The mangroves of Muara Seberang Village, West Tanjung Jabung Regency are the habitat of the blongkeng (Telescopium telescopium), a member of the gastropod class. It is feared that increased population activities such as settlement and harbor development will have an impact on the blongngkeng population. Meanwhile, not much ecological information has been disclosed, including distribution patterns and densities. This research was conducted to determine the pattern of distribution and density. Data were taken at three sampling stations which were determined based on the level of land use by the surrounding community, namely near residential areas (station 1), the edge of the mangrove forest (station 2) and in the mangrove forest (station 3). At each sub-station, 2 transects were made 45 m long with a distance of 10 m between transects. On each transect 5 plots were made, each plot measuring 5m x 5m with a distance of 5m between plots. The physical and chemical factors of the habitat that were measured were water temperature, dissolved oxygen (DO), pH, salinity, and type of substrate. The distribution pattern of the oil palm leaves was calculated using the morbidity index, while the density was calculated based on the number of individuals per unit area. The results showed that the distribution pattern of the blongkeng in Muara Seberang Village was uniform and clustered. The highest density was at station 2 with 25.5 ind/m2 followed by station 3 with 15.3 ind/m2 and station 1 with 10 ind/m2. Habitat, shelter and food are known to influence the density of the oil palm kernels, while the distribution of the oil palm fruit is influenced by a combination of several environmental factors.
