Abstract

ABSTRAK Partai Demokrat merupakan partai yang memperoleh kursi terbanyak di DPRD Provinsi Jambi Tahun 2014. Namun pada Pemilu legislatif Tahun 2019, partai Demokrat mengalami penurunan perolehan suara dan jumlah kursi. Perolehan jumlah kursi di DPRD yang sebelumnya 9 (Sembilan) kursi menjadi 7 (Tujuh) kursi. Dari hal tersebut memiliki perbandingan 2 (Dua) kursi berkurang dibandingkan pada Pemilu 2014. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis faktor-faktor yang menyebabkan menurunnya perolehan suara dan jumlah kursi partai Demokrat pada Pemilu Tahun 2019 di Provinsi Jambi. Metode yang dilakukan dalam penelitian adalah kualitatif deskriptif. Proses pengumpulan data digunakan dengan cara melakukan wawancara dengan Dewan Perwakilan Daerah (DPD) Partai Demokrat Provinsi Jambi serta wawancara dengan pakar politik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terjadinya penurunan suara Partai Demokrat Provinsi Jambi Tahun 2019 disebabkan karena tidak adanya Elit lokal pada partai Demokrat yang menyebabkan calon legislatif yang diusung partai memiliki pesaing yang kuat, dan terjadinya kasus korupsi yang melibatkan beberapa anggota partai Demokrat sehingga menyebabkan citra partai Demokrat menurun bagi pandangan masyarakat Provinsi Jambi. Kata Kunci: Partai Politik, Elit Politik, Kasus Korupsi, Partai Demokrat Provinsi Jambi ABSTRACT The Democratic Party was the party that obtained the most seats in the Jambi Provincial DPRD in 2014. However, in the 2019 legislative election, the Democratic Party experienced a decrease in vote acquisition and the number of seats. The acquisition of the number of seats in the DPRD from 9 (nine) seats to 7 (seven) seats. From this it has a comparison of 2 (two) seats reduced compared to the 2014 Election. This study aims to analyze the factors that caused the decline in vote acquisition and the number of seats for the Democratic party in the 2019 Election in Jambi Province. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. The data collection process was used by conducting interviews with the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Jambi Province Democratic Party as well as interviews with political experts. The results showed that the decline in the votes of the Democratic Party of Jambi Province in 2019 were caused by nothing of local elites in the Democratic party which causes the legislative candidates promoted by the party to have strong competitors, and the occurrence of corruption cases involving several members of the Democratic party, causing the image of the Democratic party to decline for the views of the people of Jambi Province.
