Abstract

The development of democracy in Indonesia made great progress after the reform in 1998. The upheavals of the masses led by students at that time made everything change. One of the progress seen in the development of political parties is the freedom of citizens to express themselves and the idea that the people are a factor that needs to be taken into account and included in the political process.political recruitment can be interpreted as the process of determining people who will carry out the functions of a country’s political institutions. National Awakening Party PKB in this case, open the screening and registration at the PKB DPW office in Jambi Province. After going through several stages carried out by PKB, Al Haris was elected as a candidate for Governor of Jambi Province who was paired with Abdullah Sani. The National Awakening party PKB supported five (5) seats in the Jambi Provincial DPRD. This study was designed using descriptive qualitative research methods. Starting from the theoretical recruitment. This study produces several finding that focus on how the PKB party determines the candidates to be supported in the 2020 Jambi Regional Elections. The result of this study show that PKB gave birth to potential leader candidates not from pure PKB cadres and paired with pure PKB cadres.   Keywords : Regional Head Election, National Awakening Party, Jambi Province
