Abstract
This study aims to determine the relationship between the characteristics of farmers and the use of internet-based mass communication media in lowland rice farming in Sri Agung village, Batang Asam district, Tanjung Jabung Barat regency. The research was conducted from August to September 2022 in Sri Agung village. The location selection was carried out purposively with consideration that the village is a pilot village in paddy rice farming. The purposive sampling method was used with the condition that the farmers who were the respondents had used internet-based mass communication media with a total 30 respondents. The data obtained from the respondents were analyzed descriptively with non-parametric statistics using 2x2 Chi-Square Test. The results showed that there was a real and positive relationship between the characteristics of farmers and the use of internet-based mass communication media in Sri Agung village, Batang Asam district, Tanjung Jabung Barat regency.
