Abstract
ABSTRACT Background: Diseases caused by HPV infection can infect individuals with or without symptoms. HPV infection in women of childbearing age can be transmitted through sexual intercourse and direct skin contact with sufferers. HPV infection is characterized by the appearance or growth of symptoms of warts on the surface of the skin in various areas of the body, namely around the vagina, anus, between the fingers, hands, feet, oral cavity, face and other body parts. The purpose of this study was to determine the risk factors for disease due to Human Papilloma Virus (HPV) infection through a Symptom Approach in Women of Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) Couples in Bukit Suban Village, Sarolangun Regency in 2022. Method: This type of research is a quantitative research through analytic observational with cross sectional design. The population of the study were 72 women of childbearing age within the Suku Anak Dalam (SAD) in Bukit Suban Village, Sarolangun Regency, using a total sampling technique. The sample in this study is the entire population used as a sample, totaling 72 people. Data collection used a questionnaire and data analysis was carried out with the Chi Square statistical test. Results: The results of this study showed that the prevalence of disease approach due to HPV infection in women of childbearing age with SAD was 16.7%. The statistical test results showed that there was a relationship between age (p-value 0.000<0.05), sexual behavior (p-value 0.010<0.05), parity (p-value 0.011<0.05), and the symptom approach of disease due to HPV infection in women of the same age fertile SAD, while external genitalia hygiene (p-value 0.408>0.05) was not related to the symptom approach of disease due to HPV infection in women of reproductive age couples with SAD in Bukit Suban Village, Sarolangun Regency in 2022. Conclusion: Based on bivariate analysis it is known that there are three factors associated with the symptom approach of disease due to HPV infection in women of reproductive age couples with SAD, namely age (p-value 0.000<0.05, PR=11.64, 95% CI =(2,711-47,627), sexual behavior (p-value 0.010<0.05, PR=5.588, 95% CI = (1,316-23,727), and parity (p-value 0.011<0.05, PR=5.286, 95% CI = (1,245-22,447). Researchers suggest to policy makers such as the Sarolangun District Health Office, and the Pematang Kabau Health Center so that they can improve and overcome health problems, especially in the Remote Indigenous Community of the Anak Dalam Tribe in Bukit Suban Village, Sarolangun Regency.
