Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi perekat Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) terhadap mutu biobriket sabut dan tempurung kelapa serta mengetahui konsentrasi yang tepat perekat Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) terhadap mutu biobriket sabut dan tempurung kelapa. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satuan faktor yaitu, variasi konsentrasi perekat PVAC (12%, 11%, 10%, 9% dan 8%) dengan 3 pengulangan, sehingga memperoleh 15 bahan percobaan dengan perbandingan bahan baku serbuk arang sabut dengan arang tempurung kelapa yaitu, 1:1 dengan berat 1 biobriket adalah 30 g. Biobriket yang dihasilkan dilakukan pengujian nilai kalor kadar air, kadar zat menguap, kadar abu, kerapatan, dan laju pembakaran berdasarkan standar mutu biobriket (SNI-01-6235-2000). Berdasarkan penelitian konsentrasi perekat Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai kalor biobriket sabut dan tempurung kelapa, tetapi tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap nilai kadar air, kadar zat menguap, kadar abu, nilai kerapatan, dan laju pembakaran biobriket sabut dan tempurung kelapa. Konsentrasi perekat Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) yang tepat terhadap mutu biobriket sabut dan tempurung kelapa yaitu, pada perlakuan P2 dengan konsentrasi perekat Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) sebanyak 11% (3,3 g) dari berat biobriket (30 g) dengan nilai kalor 3.779,0 kal/g, nilai rata-rata kadar air 0,7524%, kadar zat menguap 92,4%, kadar abu 9,3%, kerapatan 0,5604 g/cm3, dan laju pembakaran 0,1236 g/menit. Kata Kunci: Biobriket, Mutu, Sabut, Tempurung, Perekat Polyvinyl Acetate Abstract This study aims to determine the effect of the concentration of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) adhesive on the quality of coir and coconut shell biobriquettes and to determine the appropriate concentration of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) adhesive on the quality of coir and coconut shell biobriquettes. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with a factor unit, namely, variations in the concentration of PVAC adhesives (12%, 11%, 10%, 9% and 8%) with 3 repetitions, so as to obtain 15 experimental materials with a comparison of raw materials of coir charcoal powder with coconut shell charcoal that is, 1:1 with a weight of 1 biobriquette is 30 g. The resulting biobriquettes were tested for the calorific value of water content, volatile matter content, ash content, density, and combustion rate based on the biobriquette quality standard (SNI-01-6235-2000). Based on research on the concentration of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) adhesive significantly affected the calorific value of coir and coconut shell biobriquettes, but had no significant effect on the values ​​of moisture content, volatile matter content, ash content, density value, and burning rate of coir and coconut shell biobriquettes. The correct concentration of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) adhesive for the quality of coir and coconut shell biobriquettes, namely, in the P2 treatment with a concentration of Polyvinyl Acetate (PVAc) adhesive of 11% (3.3 g) by weight of biobriquettes (30 g) with a calorific value of 3,779, 0 cal/g, the average value of the water content is 0.7524%, the volatile matter content is 92.4%, the ash content is 9.3%, the density is 0.5604 g/cm3, and the combustion rate is 0.1236 g/minute.
