Abstract

Abstract. Utilization of computer as one of instructional media influenced by technological and communication development that growing rapidly in this digital era. Hence, there are so many instructional media being develop, and one of them is using instructional media based on web that using one of LMS (Learning Management System) application. One of instructional media based on LMS is Schoology. This matter was the foundation for the researcher to do some research and development about instructional media based on web. The purpose of this research was to develop a global ecology instructional media based on web that could construct students’ interest on learning activity. This research using a procedural model ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Test phase on this study using small group and big group. Before test phase was done, the product would be go through some validation phase. The validation has been done by two different validator, material validator and instructional media validator. Validation phase was done twice. Test phase was done on Biology Students on school year of 2014/2015, which have 9 participants in small group and 30 participants in big group, and the test has been done once with revision phase. The result of the research showed “very good” in small group with number of percentage is 82,68%. The result also showed “very good” in big group with number of percentage is 87,89%. Thus, conclusion of this research was Schoology could be used as a supplementary instructional media on Ecology Global material for Students of Biology Education Study Programme Jambi University.
