Abstract

ABSTRACT Background: OHS is an effort to create a healthy and safe environment so as to avoid work accidents. The Ramlan Jaya welding workshop in Jambi City has a high risk of work accidents where work accidents often occur, therefore it is necessary to carry out a hazard analysis to overcome work accidents. The purpose of this research is to find out the potential for danger, to know the risk assessment and control of hazards in the production process at the Ramlan Jaya welding workshop, Jambi City, in 2022. Methods: This research is a qualitative research by analyzing text interpretations and interview results. The data collection technique was carried out by means of triangulation (a combination of observations, interviews and documentation). Results: Based on the identification results, 21 potential hazards were found, based on the results of the risk assessment, it was found that there were 7 low risk levels, 5 medium risk levels, and 9 high risk levels. The hazard control efforts that have been carried out are by using personal protective equipment and engineering techniques. Conclusion: There are 21 potential hazards, of the 21 potential hazards there are 7 low risk levels, 5 medium risk levels and 9 high risk levels. The efforts to control the hazard are still not effective, therefore the researchers recommend controlling the hazard by means of engineering, administrative controls and personal protective equipment.
