Abstract

Provinsi Jambi merupakan provinsi yang memiliki lahan gambut terluas ke-3 di pulau Sumatera di bawah Riau dan Sumatera Selatan. Salah satu wilayah lahan gambut di provinsi Jambi terletak di kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Timur yaitu Hutan Lindung Gambut (HLG) Londerang. Hampir setiap tahun HLG Londerang mengalami kebakaran, kebakaran terbesar tahun 2015, menyebabkan hilang dan rusaknya flora dan fauna terutama burung. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi, komposisi dan frekuensi kehadiran burung di HLG Londerang. Sampel diambil secara purposive menggunakan 10 transek dengan panjang setiap jalur 400m dan jarak antar transek 300-400m. Pengamatan di setiap transek dilakukan sebanyak tiga kali pada pagi hari (07.00-09.00 WIB) dan sore hari (15.00-17.00 WIB) selama 120 menit pada setiap transeknya. Dokumentasi dengan menggunakan kamera DSLR. Penelitian menggunakan teknik analisis data komposisi burung dan frekuensi kehadiran burung. Instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah lembar pengamatan burung. Hasil penelitian diperoleh komposisi jenis burung sebanyak 36 jenis burung dari 22 famili dengan total individu 2.046. Frekuensi kehadiran burung yang tertinggi ada 4 jenis yaitu merbah cerukcuk (Pynonotus goiavier), cekakak belukar (Halcyon smyrnensis), bentet kelabu (Lanius schach), tekukur biasa (Spilopelia chinensis). Warna bulu burung yang terdapat di HLG Londerang beragam ada yang mencolok, tidak mencolok, gelap, terang, indah dan cerah. Variasi paruh, yaitu membengkok kebawah, ramping, panjang, melengkung, mengait, pendek, lurus, dan lurus panjang. Bentuk kaki juga bervariasi sesuai dengan habitatnya, yaitu tipe pengais, pemanjat, pengenggam, dan petengger. Kata Kunci : Burung, karakter morfologi, frekuensi kehadiran, HLG Londerang. One of the peatland areas in Jambi province is located in East Tanjung Jabung district, namely the Londerang Peat Protection Forest (HLG). Almost every year the Londerang HLG experiences fires, the biggest fire in 2015, causing loss and damage to flora and fauna, especially birds. This study aims to determine the morphological characters, composition and frequency of bird presence in the Londerang HLG. Samples were taken purposively using 10 transects with a length of 400m each and 300-400m distance between transects. Observations on each transect were carried out three times in the morning (07.00-09.00 WIB) and in the afternoon (15.00-17.00 WIB) for 120 minutes on each transect. Documentation using a DSLR camera. The study used data analysis techniques on the composition of birds and the frequency of their presence. The data collection instrument used was a bird observation sheet. The results of the study obtained the composition of bird species as many as 36 species of birds from 22 families with a total of 2,046 individuals. There were 4 types of birds with the highest frequency of presence, namely the merbah cerukcuk (Pynonotus goiavier), the kingfisher (Halcyon smyrnensis), the gray bentet (Lanius schach), the common turtledove (Spilopelia chinensis). The color of the bird feathers found in the Londerang HLG varies, some are striking, inconspicuous, dark, bright, beautiful and bright. Variation of the beak, which is bent downwards, slender, long, curved, hooked, short, straight, and long straight. The shape of the legs also varies according to their habitat, namely the type of scavenger, climber, grasper and perch.
