Antimicrobial effect of the crude organic extract of orange (Citrus sinensis) waste juice wasstudied in the Department of Agriculture, Faculty of Animal Husbandry Jambi University, during the period from May to June 2015. Disc diffusion and MIC method has been adoptedinthis study and petri dishes (120 mm in diameter) containing nutrient agar medium seededwith the test organism was used for antimicrobial screening. Test materials diffuse from thediscs to the surrounding medium of the plate. The plates are then kept in an incubator (37ºC)for 18 hours to allow the growth of the microorganisms. The antibacterial activity of the testagent is determined by measuring the diameter of the zone of inhibition in term ofmillimeter. Antimicrobial screening showed that the crude methanol extract and otherpartially extracted fraction of the orange (Citrus sinensis) waste juice of possessantimicrobial activity against most of the test organisms depending upon the nature of theiractive ingredients in the extract and capacity of diffusion into the agar medium. Among thetest organisms, the crude methanol extract of orange (Citrus sinensis) waste juice showedsignificant antimicrobial activity against Salmonella enteritidis, Esherichia coli. Keywords : Antibacterial activity, orange (Citrus sinensis), disc diffusion, MIC
