Abstract

Penelitian ini mengkaji mengenai nisan berbentuk menhir di pemakaman Desa Air Hangat Kabupaten Kerinci. Nisan berbentuk menhir di lokasi ini bentuknya sangat beragam dan jumlahnya begitu banyak. Hingga saat ini belum ada penelitian sistematis terhadap bentuk dan tipologi nisan berbentuk menhir di kompleks pemakaman Desa Air Hangat Kabupaten Kerinci. Oleh karena itu penelitiaan ini bertujuan untuk mengtahui bentuk dan tipe-tipe batu mejan yang terdapat di kompleks Pemakaman Desa Air Hangat. Berdasarkan hasil survei ditemukan batu mejan sebnyak 385 buah yang terbuat dari batu pasir, batu andesit dan batu kapur. Secara umum batu mejan di situs ini terbagi kepada tiga bentuk yakni (1) bentuk hulu keris, (2) bentuk pedang, dan (3) bentuk kepala hewan. Kemudian, motif yang dipahat pada batu mejan berbentuk motif keluk paku, motif melengkung dan memanjang, selampit, paruh burung dan aksara Arab. Berdasarkan hasil klasifikasi didapati 20 jenis tipe berdasarkan bahan, ukuran, bentuk dan motif. Bahan yang paling dominan adalah batu pasir dengan jumlah 321 buah. Ukuran yang paling dominan adalah antara 31-60 cm dengan jumlah 185 buah, sedangkan bentuk yang paling dominan yaitu pedang dengan jumlah 274 buah. Motif sangat dominan yaitu keluk paku yang ditemukan pada 11 tipe sementara 360 bau mejan berbentuk polos tanpa motif. This reseach examines menhir sheped gravestones in the cemetery of village air hangat, kerinci regency. The menhir shaped gravestones in this location are very diverse and there are so many of them. Until now there has been no systematic research on the form and typology of menhir shaped gravestones in the cemetery complex of village air hangat, kerinci regency. Therefore this research aims to find out the shape and type of mejan stone in the cemetery of village air hangat. Based on the survey results 385 mejan stones ware found, made on sandstones, andesite dan limestones. In general the mejan stones at this site is divided into three forms, (1) namely the shape of the head of the dagger (2) the shape of the sword and (3) the shape of the animal head. Then the motifs carved on mejan stones are ini the form of keluk paku motifs, curved and elengated motifs, selampit, bird beaks, and arabic script. Based on the classification result there are 20 types of types based on material, size, shape, dan motif. The most dominant material is sandstone with a total of 321 pieces. The most dominant size is between 30-60 with a total of 185 pieces. While the most dominant form is the sword with a total of 274 pieces. The most dominant motif is the keluk paku motif which is found in 11 types, while 260 pieces of mejan stone are plain without motif.
