Abstract

Kesuburan tanah sangat mempengaruhi pertumbuhan tanaman pangan. Tanah yang subur akan mampu menyediakan unsur hara yang cocok dalam jumlah yang cukup. Lima parameter tanah yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini untuk menilai status kesuburan tanah seperti kapasitas tukar kation, kejenuhan basa, C-organik, kadar P total dan K total tanah.Pengelolaan lahan untuk tanaman pangan masih belum optimal di Kecamatan Kota Baru. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi status kesuburan tanah untuk budidaya tanaman pangan di Kecamatan Kota Baru Kota Jambi. Langkah awal adalah melakukan survei lapangan untuk melihat kondisi lahan dalam menentukan titik sampel. Selanjutnya dilakukan interpretasi peta dari kemiringan lereng, jenis tanah, dan penggunaan lahan Kecamatan Kota Baru. Titik pengambilan sampel didapatkan 4 Satuan Lahan Homogen dengan titik sampel sebanyak 8 titik sampel. Pengambilan sampel tanah dilakukan secara purposive sampling. Hasil evaluasi status kesuburan tanah di lokasi penelitianmenunjukan bahwa status kesuburan kimia tanah pada areal penelitian di Kecamatan Kota Baru Kota Jambi tergolong rendah. Soil fertility greatly affects the growth of food crops. Fertile soil will be able to provide suitable nutrients in sufficient quantities. Five soil parameters were used in this study to assess soil fertility status such as cation exchange capacity, base saturation, C-organic, total P and total K content of soil. Land management for food crops is still not optimal in Kota Baru District. This study aims to evaluate the status of soil fertility for the cultivation of food crops in Kota Baru District, Jambi City. The first step is to conduct a field survey to see the condition of the land in determining sample points. Then interpretation of the map was carried out from the slope, soil type, and land use of Kota Baru District. The sampling points obtained were 4 homogeneous land units with 8 sample points. Soil sampling was carried out by purposive sampling. The results of the evaluation of soil fertility status at the study site showed that the chemical fertility status of the soil in the study area in Kota Baru District, Jambi City, was classified as low.
