Abstract
The purpose of this research is to find out how English Department students implemented teaching English at elementary schools during Kampus Mengajar program batches one, two, and three and how they reflected about that. This research conducted a qualitative descriptive method research design and used semi-structured interviews with participants to collect data. The interviews were done online using phone calls and voice notes and offline with face-to-face interviews. The participants of this research were five English department students of Jambi University. As the result, it was revealed that English department students implemented teaching English the same as the teacher usually teaches. As English Department students, they agreed it was a must for them to teach English at elementary school during this program therefore the schedule was flexible approximately one to three times a week. They taught basic English materials- because most of the elementary school students were very lacking in English at first -with various methods to teach elementary school students and they also encountered some challenges while teaching English related to students’ behavior and characteristics. From that, they admitted that their teaching skill is improved a lot and their confidence in teaching is arising. They agreed English is needed to be learned in elementary school and got good experience in teaching English at elementary school.
