Abstract
ABSTRAK Iringan kendaraan terjadi karena adanya beda karakteristik kendaraan dan perilaku yang melintas di ruas jalan. Volume kendaraan yang tinggi dan klasifikasi kendaraan yang berbeda menyebabkan terjadinya iringan kendaraan. Karakteristik yang digunakan untuk menggambarkan kondisi tersebut, yaitu kecepatan rata-rata, headway and spacing dalam iringan kendaraan. Perlambatan di jalan raya menimbulkan iringan kendaraan atau platoon. Jarak yang sangat dekat antara iringan kendaraan-kendaraan memungkinkan terjadinya kecelakaan ataupun kemacetan. Besar dan kecilnya jarak atau gap tergantung kepada waktu interval antar bagian depan kendaraan yang disebut juga dengan headway. Jarak pandang merupakan salah satu komponen dasar pada perencanaan geometrik jalan jalan raya harus mempunyai jarak pandang mendahului yang memadai apabila terdapat pertimbangan efisiensi panjang jalan disamping unsur keselamatan. Penelitian ini dilakukan di ruas jalan Muara Bulian – Muara Tembesi selama tiga hari. Peneliti melakukan penelitian guna untuk mengetahui headway and spacing kendaraan batu bara dan mengetahui waktu tempuh kendaraan lain dengan mengetahui jarak pandang medahului untuk mendahului iring-iringan kendaraan truk batu bara. Kata kunci: Iringan kendaraan, Headway and spacing, Jarak pandang mendahului, Waktu tempuh ABSTRACT Vehicle accompaniment occurs because of the different characteristics of vehicles and behavior that pass on the road. The high volume of vehicles and the different classifications of vehicles cause vehicle accompaniment. Characteristics used to describe the condition, i.e. average speed, headway and spacing in vehicle accompaniment Slowing down on the highway creates a vehicle or platoon accompaniment. The very close distance between the accompaniment of vehicles allows accidents or traffic jams. The size of the distance or gap depends on the time interval between the front of the vehicle which is also called the headway. Visibility is one of the basic components in the geometric planning of highways. The road must have adequate prior visibility if there are considerations of road length efficiency in addition to safety elements. This research was conducted on the Muara Bulian – Muara Tembesi road for only one day. Researchers conducted research in order to determine the headway and spacing of coal vehicles and to determine the travel time of other vehicles by knowing the visibility ahead to overtake the convoy of coal trucks.
