Abstract

The background of this research was due to the weak ability of students to understand literal and inferential reading. Based on the results of the exploration of problem identification, it was shown that 20 out of 33 students in the learning process, many students were still hampered in the process of understanding elements in the reading, how to conclude the reading was not appropriate with what is read, have not been able to make detailed definitions, there are even some students who have not been able to compose sentences according to SPOK rules, in determining facts and phenomena in reading elements they still experience obstacles, and in explaining causal relationships in evaluation questions are also lacking appropriate, this can be seen from the observation of the learning process and analysis of student learning outcomes, which were carried out at SD Negeri 47 Jambi City class VI A semester 1 of the 2022/2023 Academic Year, which became an obstacle in students' ability to understand the contents of written and implied readings was the lack of use of the pemb model innovative learning carried out by the teacher in order to foster students' reading comprehension, thus causing students to become less active and less understanding in terms of reading comprehension. The type of research used is classroom action research with the Suharsimi Arikunto model. The objects in the study amounted to 33 students. The solution to this problem is to use the Hands On Activity learning model. Data collection techniques in this study used observation, documentation and process assessment. The results of the study showed a significant increase in each cycle, in pre-cycle conditions with a success percentage of 39%, after cycle 1 action increased to 76%, and cycle 2 action increased to 86% and teacher activity in each cycle was 100% Key Words : reading comprehension literal and inferential dan Hands On Actifity
