Abstract

This research aimed to determine students' perceptions of using the quizizz platform to improve students' vocabulary mastery. The site of this research was SMA Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. The subjects for this research were five students from grade 11 F-2 health department who have used the quizizz platform as a medium for learning English. This research employed a qualitative method. The instruments used in this research were interview. Based on the results of the interviews the researcher found three themes that became the findings, namely 1. students' perceptions of using quiziz to improve vocabulary mastery, 2. benefits of using quizizz in learning vocabulary, 3. weaknesses of using quizizz in learning vocabulary. The first theme contains students' perceptions of Quizizz such as fun learning platforms, positive learning motivators, and learning boosters. The second theme contains students' perceptions about the advantages of Quizizz such as varied features on Quizizz, establishing fun and positive atmosphere, high mastery of new vocabulary. The third theme contains students' perceptions about the weaknesses of using quizizz such as bad network connections, lack of concentration due to limited time. Overall, all participants agreed that using quizizz as a learning medium helped them improve their vocabulary mastery and the use of quizizz increases student learning motivation.
