Abstract
ABSTRAK Penggunaan Strategi Reciprocal Teaching Berbantuan Media Gambar Untuk Meningkatkan Berpikir Kritis Siswa Pada Pembelajaran Tematik di Kelas VI SD Negeri 79/IV Kota Jambi Oleh : FENDY ARI BUDIYANTO P2A621005 Program Study Magister Pendidikan Dasar Latar belakang dilakukan penelitian ini karena masih rendahnya kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa, hal ini terlihat dari kemampuan siswa dalam bertanya dan menjawab pertanyaan, serta menyampaikan pendapat dan menanggapi materi yang diajarkan dalam proses pembelajaran. Selain itu kegiatan pembelajaran dikelas masih konvensional karena guru hanya menggunakan metode ceramah saat melaksanakan pembelajaran.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui apakah penggunaan strategi Reciprocal Teaching berbantuan media gambar dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran tematik di kelas VI SD Negeri 79/IV Kota Jambi. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas (PTK) dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kualitatif yang dilakukan dalam dua siklus dan melalui empat tahapan yang mencakup: (1) Perencanaan, (2) Pelaksanaan, (3) Pengamatan dan (4) Refleksi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di SD Negeri 79/IV Kota Jambi pada semester ganjil tahun ajaran 2022/2023. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas IV.B SD Negeri 79/IV Kota Jambi yang berjumlah 20 siswa, terdiri dari 10 siswa laki-laki dan 10 siswa perempuan. Sedangkan teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu metode observasi, dokumentasi dan pemberian soal evaluasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Pada siklus I tingkat berpikir kritis siswa belum optimal dengan persentase keberhasilan 62,9% hal ini disebabkan oleh beberapa indikator yang belum tercapai diantaranya siswa masing kurang mampu memberikan penjelasan sederhana berdasarkan teks dangambar, serta belum mampu dalam menyimpulkan materi pelajaran sehingga masih kesulitan dalam menjawab pertanyaan dan menyampaikan pendapat pada saat kegiatan belajar atau diskusi. Setelah dilakukan upaya perbaikan yang dilaksanakan pada siklus II menunjukkan bahwa tingkat berpikir kritis siswa sudah berjalan dengan optimal dengan persentasi keberhasilan mencapai 81,4%. Dari hasil penelitian ini, dapat disimpulkan bahwa penggunaan strategi Reciprocal Teaching berbantuan media gambar dapat meningkatkan berpikir kritis siswa pada pembelajaran Tematik di kelas VI SD Negeri 79/IV Kota Jambi. ABSTRACT The Use of Image-Assisted Reciprocal Teaching Strategies to Improve Students' Critical Thinking in Thematic Learning in Class VI SD Negeri 79/IV Jambi City By : FENDY ARI BUDIYANTO P2A621005 Basic Education Masters Study Program The background of this research is because the students' critical thinking skills are still low, this can be seen from the students' ability to ask and answer questions, as well as express opinions and respond to the material being taught in the learning process. In addition, learning activities in class are still conventional because the teacher only uses the lecture method when carrying out learning. This study aims to find out whether the use of image-assisted Reciprocal Teaching strategies can improve students' critical thinking in thematic learning in class VI of SD Negeri 79/IV Jambi City. This research is a classroom action research (CAR) using qualitative research methods which are carried out in two cycles and through four stages which include: (1) Planning, (2) Implementation, (3) Observation and (4) Reflection. This research was conducted at SD Negeri 79/IV Jambi City in the odd semester of the 2022/2023 school year. The subjects in this study were students of class IV.B SD Negeri 79/IV Jambi City, totaling 20 students, consisting of 10 male students and 10 female students. While the data collection techniques used are the method of observation, documentation and giving evaluation questions. The results showed that in cycle I the level of students' critical thinking was not optimal with a success percentage of 62.9%, this was caused by several indicators that had not been achieved, including students who were not able to provide simple explanations based on text and pictures, and were not able to conclude the subject matter so that they still difficulties in answering questions and expressing opinions during learning activities or discussions. After the improvement efforts carried out in cycle II showed that the level of students' critical thinking was running optimally with a success percentage of 81.4%. From the results of this study, it can be concluded that the use of Reciprocal Teaching strategies assisted by media images can improve students' critical thinking in Thematic learning in class VI SD Negeri 79/IV Jambi City.
