Abstract

ABSTRACT Background : Diabetes mellitus is not insulin dependent (DMTTI) 90% -95% of patients with diabetes mellitus are type 2 which occurs at the age of> 30 years who do not need insulin from outside. Type 2 DM patients do not have dependence on insulin injections, this type can be controlled through lifestyle improvements and drug therapy as well as control compliance. For control of type 2 DM patients, they do not always need insulin, but insulin therapy is used to help control blood sugar levels in type 2 DM patients, therefore type 2 DM patients are still required to control blood sugar levels at least once a month according to the algorithm prepared. In the Diabetes Management Consensus, the disease progression of type 2 DM patients must have a level of compliance control in the management of DM. Based on data for 2021, the number of old visits (controls) of type 2 DM patients at the Simpang IV Sipin Health Center, Jambi City, was 1471 people and the number of new visits (controls) of type 2 DM patients at the Simpang IV Sipin Health Center, Jambi City, were 205 people. Based on the initial data survey, it can be seen that there has been a decrease in visits (controls) in type 2 DM patients. Method : This study used a quantitative method with a cross sectional design. The sample of this research was 73 respondents who were selected using probability sampling technique with accidental sampling. Data analysis used the chi-square test. Result : Bivariate analysis using the chi-square test, the relationship between the independent variables and the dependent variable is knowledge (p=0.224), attitude (p=0.817), motivation (p=0.716), family support (p=0.001) and the role of health workers (p = 0.028), with adherence to blood sugar level control. Conclusion : There is a relationship between family support and the role of health workers with adherence to blood sugar level control in type 2 DM patients at the Simpang IV Sipin Health Center, Jambi City. There is no relationship between knowledge, attitudes and motivation with adherence to blood sugar level control in type 2 DM patients at the Simpang IV Sipin Health Center, Jambi City.
