Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui populasi dan kondisi habitat rusa tutul (Axis axis) di ruang terbuka kantor PTPN VI Jambi. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode pengamatan langsung dilapangan dan wawancara, guna memperoleh data populasi rusa tutul dan habitat tempat hidupnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa populasi rusa tutul di ruang terbuka kantor PTPN VI Jambi berjumlah sebanyak 24 ekor individu. Berdasarkan kelas umur, populasi rusa tutul terdiri dari 10 ekor jantan dewasa, 9 ekor betina dewasa, 2 ekor jantan remaja, 2 ekor betina remaja dan 1 ekor anakan. Kepadatan populasi rusa tutul adalah sebesar 7 ekor/ha, diperoleh dari pembagian jumlah populasi yang ada dengan luasan areal efektif. Sementara data nisbah kelamin rusa tutul di ruang terbuka kantor PTPN VI Jambi adalah 1:1. Ruang terbuka kantor PTPN VI Jambi menyediakan komponen-komponen habitat yang dibutuhkan oleh rusa tutul, terdiri dari pakan, air dan naungan/shelter. Kondisi tersebut menjelaskan bahwa pada saat penelitian dilakukan, ruang terbuka kantor PTPN VI Jambi sebagai habitat rusa tutul dalam keadaan baik dan ideal, sehingga rusa tutul dapat hidup sejahtera. Kata kunci: Rusa Tutul, Populasi Rusa, Kondisi Habitat ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the population and habitat conditions of the spotted deer (Axis axis) in the open space of PTPN VI Jambi office. This study used direct observation in the field and interviews, in order to obtain data on the spotted deer population and its habitat. The results showed that the population of spotted deer in the open space of PTPN VI Jambi's office was 24 individuals. Based on age class, the spotted deer population consisted of 10 adult males, 9 adult females, 2 juvenile males, 2 juvenile females and 1 juvenile. The population density of the spotted deer is 7 individuals/ha, obtained from dividing the total population by the effective area. Meanwhile, the sex ratio data for spotted deer in the open space of PTPN VI Jambi's office is 1:1. PTPN VI Jambi's open space provides habitat components needed by spotted deer, consisting of food, water and shelter. This condition explains that at the time the research was conducted, the open space of PTPN VI Jambi's office as a habitat for spotted deer was in good condition and ideal, so that spotted deer could live a prosperous life.
