Abstract
Kata Kunci : Harimau Sumatera (Panthera tigris sumatrae), Konservasi ex-situ ,Aktivitas Harian ABSTRACT The Sumatran tiger (Panthera tigris sumatae) is one of the last three subspecies of the tiger to survive and represent the subspecies in Indonesia. Sumatran tigers fall into the Appendix I category in CITES with critically endangered status causing (Panthera tigris sumatae) to be conserved ex-situ. Sumatran tiger populations are currently experiencing a dramatic decline due to poaching, deliberate habitat destruction (forest opening and moving) and natural disasters (forest fires) and a reduction in their habitat area. One of the efforts to preserve Sumatra tigers is with ex-situ conservation which is carried out rehabilitationally. The Sumatran Tiger Rehabilitation Center Dharmasraya (PR-HSD) is one of the ex-situ conservation institutions that facilitate the rescue and rehabilitation of Sumatran tigers, release of Sumatran tigers to their natural habitats. The purpose of this study is to analyze the daily activities of Sumatra tigers (Panthera tigris Sumatrae) during rehabilitation at the ARSARI West Sumatra Tiger Rehabilitation Center, then compared to literature. The study was conducted over two months (June – July 2021) using the focal animal sampling method, activities observed in this study include eating and drinking activities, rest activities, grooming activities, urination and defecation activities, social activities and steriotope activities of Sumatran tigers. The results obtained in the study of the daily activities of two Sumatran tigers in ex-situ habitats in PR-HSD are the most performed daily activities of female Sumatran tigers (Ria), resting activities (55.88%), stereotype activities (35.25%), grooming (4.84%), social (2.02%), eating and drinking (1.56%), and urination and defecation (4.6%), while the daily activities in male Sumatran tigers (Putta pungulung) were rest activity (55.88%), stereotype activity (36.21%), grooming (5.59%), social (2.72%), eating and drinking (1.26%), and urination and defecation (0.28%).
