Abstract

Abstrak The study aims to determined the utilization of fermentation orange (Citrus sinensis) waste meal (TLJF) in diets on production performance and cholesterol blood of broiler chickens. The experiment used two hundred day old chickens of Lohman strain, for 35 d feeding trial. The birds were randomly diveded into four dietary treatments consists of P0 = diets without TLJF; P1 = diets with 10% TLJF; P2 = diets with 15% TLJF and P3 = diets with 20% TLJF with five replications, wich consisted ten chickens each. The experimental design used Completely Randomized Design (CRD) of one way. ANOVA then continued with Duncan test. Variable measured were the growth ( feed intake, weight gain and feed conversion ratio) and blood cholestero trygliceride, HDL and LDL) of broiler chickens. The results fed with 10% and 15% TLJF in diets insignificantly effected to diets consumption (P<0,05). However 20% TLJF treatment decrease ration consumption significantly (P<0,05) if compared to other treatments in addition, there was also decrease of blood cholesterol concentration (P<0,05) 10%, 15% and 20% TLJF fed in diets can decrease tryglicerides, HDL and LDL. From the results of this study concluded that administration of TLJF up to 15% levels in the diet can reduce the growth performance can and decrease cholesterol level of broiler chickens. Kata kunci: orange waste juice, fermentation, performance, cholesterol.
