Abstract

Abstract The aim of this experiment was to study and determine optimumnapplication of sediment from cattle rumen liquor as feed supplement. This sediment is considered as source of amino acids, minerals and vitamins to improve quality of broiler diets based on local feedstufss. Two hundred ond fourty Ross strain DOCs were randomly assign into six dietary treatments namely: r1 = Ration containing commercial premix; R2 Ration containing 0% sediment rumen liquor (SRL); R3 = ration containing 0,25% SRL; R4 = Ration containing 0,5% SRL; R6 = = Ration containing 0,75% SRL; and R6 = = Ration containing 1,0% SRL. At the end of experiment two broiler aged six weeks from each unit were slaughtered to measure carcass weight. The experiment was carried out based on completely randomized design, and data obtained were subjected to ANOVA and continued by Duncan’s multiple range test when necessary. Result showed that SRL addition ini broiler diets at levels of 0.25, 0.5, 0.75and 1.0% improved broiler performance, and addition at level of 1.0% showed the best performance and feed conversion ratio. The treatment had no significant effect on carcass weight. It is concluded that application of 1.0% SRL improve quality of broiler diet composed of local feedstuffs and in turn it improved broiler performance.
